Mansfield District Council (MDC) is committed to providing a high quality repairs service and has a responsibility to ensure that its properties are in a good state of repair. Although the Council is responsible for carrying out the majority of repairs to customers’ homes, there are certain repairs which tenants are responsible for.
Our Responsive Repairs Policy (currently under review) and Tenant Repairs Handbook explain how Mansfield District Council delivers repairs and maintenance services to council homes and communal areas. Together, they set out how tenants can report repairs, the standards and timescales they can expect, and the responsibilities of both the Council and tenants. They also provide guidance on repair priorities, appointments, damp and mould, rechargeable repairs, and how to give feedback or make a complaint. The documents are designed to ensure services are safe, reliable and customer-focused, helping tenants understand the repairs process and what they can expect from us when repairs are needed.
