You can make payments online 24 hours a day using most major debit or credit cards.

Spread the cost of your bills and choose a monthly payment date if you pay by Direct Debit.

By setting up a Direct Debit you can take control of your payments and pay your Council Tax, rent and other charges quickly and securely.

It means you can avoid arrears and penalties as there's no chance of forgetting to pay as it will be paid automatically.

This service can be used to pay for the following:

  • Council Tax
  • Business Rates
  • Business Improvement District (BID) payments
  • Housing and garage rents
  • Fixed Penalty Notices
  • Sundry income invoices.

You will need your debit or credit card and reference number ready when you call.

Please also have a pen and paper ready to make a note of your payment receipt.

You can pay your council bills by cash, cheque, debit card or credit card at any Post Office or by cash at any PayPoint outlet.

This service can be used to pay for the following:

  • Council Tax
  • Housing rent
  • Garage rent
  • Sundry income invoice
  • Business Rates
  • Business Improvement District (BID)
  • Garden Waste Service

You will need a bill with a barcode on it to pay. If you already have one of these, simply take it along and make the payment.

To find your local Post Office please visit the Post Office website and enter your postcode.

To find your local PayPoint site please visit the PayPoint website (opens in new window) and enter your town or postcode in the locator search box.

Please note: If you pay at the Post Office or PayPoint site you will need to allow four working days for us to receive your payment.

To pay by online banking you will need to provide the account number/invoice number/rent reference, including any letters.

Do not leave any gaps, for example, for Council Tax payments C123456789.
