Proposed Decant Policy
Mansfield District Council is seeking feedback from tenants on its proposed Decant Policy.
A decant is when a tenant needs to move temporarily or permanently from their home because it is not safe or practical for them to remain there. This may happen due to emergency situations, significant repairs, major improvement works, redevelopment projects, or where there are risks to health and safety.
The proposed policy sets out how we will:
- Prioritise the safety and wellbeing of tenants.
- Make fair and consistent decisions.
- Consider individual household needs and vulnerabilities.
- Minimise disruption where a move is required.
- Meet our legal and regulatory responsibilities.
We would like to hear your views on the proposed policy before it is finalised.
