Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Following the Prime Minister's announcement on 31 October 2020, a national lockdown is now in place until Wednesday 2 December. Please ensure you follow the Government's national lockdown restrictions. Read national lockdown restrictions in other languages.

From 0.01am on Wednesday 2 December, Mansfield along with the whole of Nottinghamshire will be a Very High Alert area. Residents and businesses must follow Tier 3 restrictions. The new Tiers have been strengthened to reduce the infection rate as part of a strategy to save lives, protect health and care services, and keep our economy and schools open. The Government will review these restrictions every 14 days.

The Government has also announced specific ‘Christmas bubbles’ that will allow people from three households to mix in homes between 23 and 27 December, to enable them to celebrate Christmas together.

Please continue to:

  • wash your hands regularly and for 20 seconds
  • wear a face covering in indoor settings where social distancing may be difficult, and where you will come into contact with people you do not normally meet
  • stay 2 metres apart from people you do not live with where possible, or 1 metre with extra precautions in place (such as wearing a face covering, or increasing ventilation indoors)
  • download the NHS COVID-19 app and check in to venues you visit.

Also, letting fresh air into indoor spaces can reduce the risk of infection from coronavirus by over 70%. Read more on the importance of ventilation to reduce spread of COVID-19.
