Education

British Forces Resettlement Services

The British Forces Resettlement Services (BFRS) is a social enterprise created to help the armed forces community with their transition into civilian life. It is open to service leavers, reserve forces, veterans, civilian MOD employees, as well as partners and families.

Career Transitions Partnership

LifeWorks

LifeWorks is a fully funded five day course provided by the Royal British Legion Industries. It equips ex-armed forces personnel with the tools to get into and maintain a civilian job that's right for them.

The Regular Forces Employment Agency (RFEA) employment charity

The Regular Forces Employment Agency (RFEA) employment charity helps service leavers and ex-armed forces personnel find and remain in appropriate, rewarding employment for the rest of their working lives.

The Warrior Programme

The Warrior Programme is a three day motivation and training programme with 12 months structured support and signposting.

The Warrior Programme runs residential programmes for veterans and adult family members of veterans.

The three day coaching programme provides participants with practical, effective tools, techniques and coaching strategies to improve performance and motivation and overcome issues.

UCAS – Attending University

University support – the Naval Families Federation

Employment

British Forces Resettlement Services

The BFRS hold career events throughout the UK which bring the armed forces community together with employers, training providers and support services.

Career Transition Partnership

The Career Transition Partnership (CTP) (opens in new window) is the Ministry of Defence working with Right Management. Leavers from the Royal Navy, Army, Royal Air Force or the Royal Marines at any rank can benefit from resettlement support, career transition advice and training opportunities.

CTP is the official provider of armed forces resettlement and ex-servicemen and women can be entitled to support from the CTP for up to two years post discharge.

Department for Work and Pensions

All former service personnel have access to the full range of Department for Work and Pensions (DWP).

A person who has served in the armed forces for any time within the last three years can be considered for early access to the work programme.

Regular Forces Employment Association

Providing ex-forces jobs and career advice. They have thousands of job opportunities from employers who value ex military recruitment. You can take a look at their ex-forces jobs and career advice (opens in new window).

They also have a Families Programme (opens in new window) to provide advice and guidance for civilian spouses and partners of serving armed forces and ex-service personnel, to help them into employment.
