All vehicle plates are renewed annually. For renewal we require the following:
- Completed application form (co-signed by the Operator if it is a Private Hire Vehicle)
- MOT Certificate
- Insurance Policy
- Mechanical test certificate
Our application fees (opens in a new window) must be paid when you make your application.
It is advisable to submit renewal applications at least one month prior to the expiry of the licence.
Once produced, the plate will be sent to our Vehicle Testing Station at Hermitage Lane. The application must be submitted at least five working days before the mechanical test takes place.
We hold a public register containing details of vehicle licences, issued by us.
The register contains the following information:
- name of owner
- date and period for which the licence is granted, and
- licence number.
