What is happening in Mansfield?
Mansfield District Council will meet their duty to assess, identify and plan to meet the district's housing needs including those of Gypsies and Travellers and Travelling Showpeople.
When plan making, local planning authorities are required to identify and update annually a five year supply of specific deliverable sites and also identify a supply of specific, developable sites or broad locations for the following five to ten years. The Mansfield Gypsy and Traveller Accommodation Needs Assessment 2017 identified the need for three pitches and one transit site to be delivered by the end of the Local Plan period (2033).

Assessments have been prepared to measure the accommodation and housing support needs of Gypsies, Travellers, and Travelling Showpeople. This will be used to inform the allocation of resources and as an evidence base for policy development in housing and planning.
