The Revenues and Benefits team are based at the Civic Centre or work remotely from home. We cover all aspects of Business Rates and Council Tax including billing, collection and debt recovery. We are also responsible for Council Tax Support and Housing Benefit. These help people on low income with their Council Tax and rental costs (for those who do not get their rental costs including in a Universal Credit award). The team are in contact with customers every day and it is an administration based role.

The Housing Repairs Service team are based in Mansfield Woodhouse and cover many construction and maintenance aspects of domestic, and some commercial, work types.  This ranges from repairing a broken pane of glass to renewing internal and external doors, we also cover plumbing, gas, electric, joinery, bricklaying, plastering and painting to name a few.  Many of the tasks we do require an individual to have an open mind to get a work task completed and can often crossover between trade skills.

Our busy Marketing and Comms team are based in the Civic Centre. Our team are responsible for event management, social media accounts and digital marketing.  Find out more about creative writing, content creation, digital design, publishing online, email marketing and website editing. Subject to the corporate calendar we may also be able to give you event management experience and activities covering corporate communications.  

Customer Services – based at the Civic Centre our customer experience team cover all phone calls and emails that come into the council. We also manage a busy reception desk at the Civic with visitors arriving throughout the day.

The Fleet team are based at the Hermitage Lane depot in Mansfield and are responsible for the safety and maintenance of the fleet of vehicles owned by the council. Find out more about vehicle maintenance, HGV vehicles, safety and legislation.

Our Economic Development team are based in the Civic Centre in Mansfield and work to improve the economic wellbeing in Mansfield. They work with both businesses and the community and oversee projects and funded schemes to ensure transparency and accountability. The team also attend meetings and events in the district.

The Licencing team are based in the Civic Centre in Mansfield and are responsible for reviewing and issuing licences in accordance with laws and legislation. The role includes liaising with the public and businesses, visits to premises and supportive administrative tasks. Licences include taxis and private hire, bars and restaurants, gambling licences and childminding.

The council’s Environmental Health team are responsible for monitoring and enforcing many regulations and laws in the district, including housing standards, noise pollution, air quality, industrial processes and fly tipping. They work in the local community and are out and about in the district, and are also responsible for food hygiene and safety ratings in the town.

The Council’s Cultural Services team can offer mentoring at all levels of study. This would be arranged on a bespoke basis. The team covers both the Palace Theatre and the museum, and are involved in show production (both technical and front of house), curator and gallery assistant duties, and participation programmes including primary school delivery, technical academies, Youth Theatre and funded community programmes.

The Democratic Services and Elections team are based at the Civic Centre in Mansfield and are responsible for ensuring the democratic process is administered correctly and lawfully. They support councillors, arrange and attend council meetings and advise on formal decision making and policy. The elections team are responsible for managing any elections that take place in the district, including general, mayoral and local elections and referendums.

The Waste and Recycling Team at the council are based at the Hermitage Lane depot in Mansfield and are responsible for the emptying of 12,000 bins each day in the district.  The wider team includes refuse collectors, administrators, managers and supervisors and manage domestic waste collection, business and trade and our recycling stations.
