Bellamy Centre Regeneration Consultation

The regeneration of Bellamy Centre is a priority and forms part of the council’s health and wellbeing objectives and Housing New Build programme.

The proposed regeneration of the centre will include the development of new affordable housing as well as green space and a children’s play area.

Two proposed design options have been put forward for consultation:

Both options have similarities including the numbers of houses and the presence of green space, a large play area and a new shop. The play area plan and artist impression are examples of what could potentially be provided.

One of the main differences between the options is the road layout. Option A shows a road linking Egmanton Road and Thorpe Road whereas Option B shows a road linking Finningley Road and Thorpe Road. Both road layouts include traffic calming measures and a central bus stop.

We would like to hear your comments on Options A and B before the plans are taken forward.

Please note: This consultation is now closed.

Paper copies of the options and the survey are also available at the Bellamy Food share on Wednesday lunch times and the Bellamy Food Club on Friday lunch times at Tuxford Court.

Your comments and feedback will help us shape the final proposed plan for Bellamy and will then be subject to a viability assessment plus consideration and delegated decision by the relevant portfolio holder to approve the project.
