The Mansfield District Local Plan 2013 - 2033 was submitted to the Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government on 19 December 2018 to be examined by an independent inspector.
Sarah Housden BA(Hons) MRTPI was appointed to undertake the independent examination into the soundness of the Mansfield Local Plan. The examination hearing sessions were held between 14 and 24 May 2019.
Following the independent examination of the Local Plan, the council received the Inspector's Report on 31 March 2020. This report concludes that the Local Plan provides an appropriate basis for the planning of Mansfield District, provided that a number of main modifications are made to it.

Adoption of the Local Plan
The publication of the Inspector's report means that the council can proceed towards the adoption of the Local Plan.
