We maintain a local land charges register which contains details of legal restrictions attached to property or land, which are binding on the new owner or occupier.
We carry out official searches of the register, which is made up of two parts:
- LLC1 - the official certificate that deals with all the charges recorded in the local land charges register.
- Con29 - other matters affecting the property such as the planning history of the property, work carried out under building regulations and highways information.
Request a local land charges search
To request a local land charges search, we have provided an Easy Search Form, which simplifies the process and includes the fees.
Alternatively you can purchase and download the LLC1, Con29 and Con29O forms from the online legal forms store (opens in new window).
You must also supply a location plan and the appropriate fee.
The forms can be sent to us by email at firstname.lastname@example.org or by post to:

An official search guarantees a detailed response to the LLC1 and the Con29 requests. However, the search will not tell you about planning proposals for adjacent land or property unless you specifically ask for it. This information can be supplied at an extra cost, please contact us for details.
Request a personal search
A personal search is a search of the local land charges register but does not include all the information given on a full search.
