Customers encouraged to book an appointment to visit Civic Centre

Mansfield Civic Centre will reopen to the public on Monday 21 June 2021.

Although there will be open access to the reception area from both the Chesterfield Road entrance and the car park entrance off Rosemary Street, customers are strongly encouraged to book an appointment with the relevant team in advance. This will ensure a suitable officer is available to deal with the enquiry and reduce waiting times.

If an officer is not available, the Customer Services team will do their best to deal with the enquiry in other ways, for example, online or they will put the customer in contact with the service over the phone to make a further appointment at a convenient time.

The Civic Centre will be open:

  • Monday to Thursday from 8.30am to 5pm
  • Fridays from 8.30am to 4:30pm

The council is proud that it has been able to help so many customers throughout the pandemic and wants to continue being as accessible as possible for those without access to or skills in computers.

Since face-to-face contact was limited in line with Government guidance, only a small number of customers have required appointments to visit the Civic Centre as their enquiries couldn’t be dealt with in any other way.

The council has worked hard to improve its website and increase the number of forms online. This means customers are able to look for the information they need, report issues or apply and pay for a range of services quickly and easily on our website.

Customers can also contact the council via email mdc@mansfield.gov.uk, by calling 01623 463463 or via private message on our Facebook page (opens in new window) or on our Twitter page (opens in new window).

Executive Mayor Andy Abrahams said: “Since the start of the pandemic we've reviewed our systems and made them more efficient. Thank you to customers who have provided feedback and also made greater use of our website and contacting us via email and social media message.

“While we look forward to welcoming more visitors back to the Civic Centre, we would remind customers that much of what you need can be found online to save you an unnecessary journey. If you do need to see an officer face-to-face then we strongly advise that you book an appointment in advance. This will help to speed up your visit.

“It’s important to continue to follow all the COVID-19 measures that remain in place for your own safety and that of other customers and council employees.”

Please do not enter the Civic Centre if you have symptoms of COVID-19. Face coverings must be worn at all times (unless exempt). Please attend on your own if possible and follow all social distancing guidelines and instructions provided by employees. Additional cleaning will be carried out.
