By-election for Oakham ward

A by-election will be held on 6 May 2021 for the Oakham ward of Mansfield District Council following the resignation of Cllr Lee Anderson.

The Notice of Election will be published on 29 March, the same day as for the elections for Nottinghamshire Police and Crime Commissioner and for Nottinghamshire County Council.

Candidates need to submit their nomination papers between 29 March and by 8 April 2021 at 4pm during office hours. Nomination packs can be obtained by emailing elections@mansfield.gov.uk.

The run-up to the election will adopt the following timetable:

Thursday 8 April - close of nominations for candidates (at 4pm).

Friday 9 April - statement of persons nominated to be published (by 4pm). 

Monday 19th April - deadline to register to vote.
 
Tuesday 20 April - deadline to apply for a postal vote (by 5pm). 

Tuesday 27 April  - deadline to apply to vote by proxy - normal applications and non-medical emergencies (by 5pm). 

Thursday 6 May - polling day.

Returning Officer for Mansfield Hayley Barsby said: "This Mansfield District Council by-election is being held following the resignation of Cllr Anderson who was elected as the MP for Ashfield last year.

"If you have not registered to vote already, please make sure you do so by 19 April in order to have your say in these elections."
