Garden waste collections to restart in Mansfield district

Garden waste collections are back

Garden waste collections will restart across Mansfield district from Monday 18 May 2020.

The Mansfield District Council service was temporarily suspended while the council focused on maintaining vital household waste and recycling collections.

To enable crews to empty your brown garden waste bin, please:

  • Ensure your bin is out by 6am on your usual collection day
  • Loosen any compacted waste to stop it getting stuck inside
  • Do not overfill your bin
  • Do not contaminate your brown bin with food, recycling or domestic household items

The council is unable to take side waste or do any extra collections so please be mindful of this when gardening and refilling your bin.

Crews will not be able to return for missed bins. Apologies for any inconvenience.

Sarah Troman, Head of Neighbourhood Services, said: “During lockdown our refuse crews have been working hard to prioritise vital household waste and recycling collections.

“They have been overwhelmed by support from the public who really appreciate the continuation of these critical collections at this difficult time.

“Our priority continues to be the safety and wellbeing of our employees and all our waste collection services will remain under constant review. If, for any reason the situation changes, we will not hesitate to make appropriate changes to our waste services.”

You can sign up and pay for the service or order additional brown bins at Garden Waste.

In-cab technology tells crews which bins have been paid for so there is no need for bin stickers. Please make sure your house number is clearly on your bin.

Check your bin day at Bin Calendar and sign up for free email bin reminders on our Sign Up page.
