Rebecca Adlington Leisure Centre Team celebrate achieving the new 'excellent rating'

Mansfield's Rebecca Adlington Leisure Centre has announced that it has been rated Excellent by Quest, the Sport England‑backed leisure industry continuous improvement tool.

Quest is delivered by an organisation called Right Directions, which sends assessors to leisure facilities around the UK, evaluating them against a set of fixed criteria including areas such as equality and inclusion, customer service, health and safety, and energy management.

For the Rebecca Adlington Leisure Centre, the Quest assessors noted the facility’s key strengths as being the work it has done to reduce energy consumption by 22% year on year, the excellent range of inclusive activity sessions it offers and the warm, friendly, and knowledgeable welcome customers receive from all the staff who work there.

Matt Hancock, Contract Manager for More Leisure Community Trust (MLCT) in Mansfield, said:

“This is the first time that any of our centres in Mansfield have achieved Quest -Excellent, a rating that signifies facilities offering only the highest standards of service. As Contract Manager, I could not be prouder!

“This rating would not have been possible without the support of our client, Mansfield District Council. Their continued commitment to the wellbeing needs of this community is an example to local authorities everywhere.

“Our other centres in Mansfield are currently rated Quest - Very Good, with their assessments due to take place later in the year. But for now, the Rebecca Adlington Leisure Centre team have set a very high benchmark, which can only spur on our colleagues at Warsop Health Hub, Oak Tree Leisure Centre and Water Meadows Fitness & Swimming Complex.”

Cllr Andy Burgin, Portfolio Holder for the Environment and Leisure, said:

"What a fantastic achievement for everyone connected to the Rebecca Adlington Leisure Centre this is. Making sure that people in Mansfield have access to first-class facilities that can help everyone to lead happier, healthier lives is vitally important, and the 'excellent rating' shows just how much hard work has gone into creating that. A huge congratulations to the team at the centre and Mansfield District Council for raising the bar for leisure facilities even higher."

Warsop Health Hub, Oak Tree Leisure Centre, Rebecca Adlington Leisure Centre and Water Meadows Fitness & Swimming Complex are operated by MLCT, in partnership with Serco Leisure and on behalf of Mansfield District Council.
