More than 10,000 visitors attended a light and fire extravaganza in Mansfield on Friday and Saturday (20 and 21 February).
The free family event in Titchfield Park was organised by Mansfield District Council, with funding from the Government's UK Shared Prosperity Fund and the Arts Council England.
It filled half the park with spectacular flaming art installations by Walk the Plank and a light trail which lit up the other half of the park, along with circus and street performances and live music.
The event included popular “relaxed viewing” slots when sounds were subdued and some of the fire and light installations were less impactful to help visitors with very young children and those with disabilities or sensory needs.
Executive Mayor Andy Abrahams hailed the event as a huge success and said: “It was a fantastic event and extremely busy especially on Saturday with visitors from across the area.
“I would like to thank the council officers for all their hard work and long hours behind the scenes to make these events happen for the enjoyment of the public.
“These kinds of events really help to put Mansfield on the map as a destination and drive the nighttime and visitor economy in this district.
