Mansfield Guides have been previous recipients of a Mayor's 500 Fund grant

A new round of funding from the Mayor’s 500 Fund has opened for local groups and good causes in Mansfield.

Applications for grants of up to £500 can be made until 27 February.

The Mayor’s 500 Fund is a percentage contribution from the Mayor Andy Abrahams’ net salary to provide a cash injection for local groups, individuals, and volunteers to deliver a specific project in the Mansfield community. Since 2019, more than £27,000 has been shared out. Applications are decided by the Mayor.

Grants can be used for equipment, promotions, and materials to deliver direct benefits to residents.

The Mayor said: “It is always a difficult job deciding who to award these grants to because I always receive way more applications than I can fund. For those groups not selected, we try point them in the direction of other sources of funding.”

Successful candidates in the past years have included Mansfield District Corps of Drums, Nottinghamshire Mining Museum, Friends of Ladybrook Park and the Unanima Theatre.

Due to the volume of applications received, priority may be given to first-time applications that meet the criteria. To find out more and to apply, visit the Fund webpage (link opens in new window).
