Mansfield District Council is set to receive £1.5m in funding as part of the government’s new Pride in Place strategy.
The “Pride in Place Impact Funding” will support the council’s existing regeneration projects to improve services and facilities, as well as helping to deliver projects aimed at boosting economic growth, health and wellbeing.
Mansfield District Council, working with key partners from across the Place Board, has already delivered several key regeneration projects such as the Warsop Health Hub, Destination Mansfield, work to make Berry Hill Park a Destination Park and most recently the Mansfield Ambition Exchange. Further work is being progressed in the town through the National Lottery Heritage Fund sponsored Townscape Heritage programme, with plans already being prepared for improvements to the Market Place and the former Beales and Co-op store.
Executive Mayor of Mansfield, Andy Abrahams, said: “These are very exciting times. We’re delighted to receive this additional funding for Mansfield; it is a welcome bonus to our ambitious plans to improve our town and district for everyone.
“The work we have already done to regenerate Mansfield is very impressive, with more projects gathering pace. This additional funding will only strengthen our plans to make Mansfield a great place to live, work and visit.”
The council will be working with the MP, its partners and communities by listening to ideas about how it can use the funding to improve and develop community spaces, assets, public and green spaces, high streets and town centres. The funding will be used during the current and next financial year as part of the government’s Pride In Place strategy.
