Plans are in place to provide a strong future for the senior leadership of Mansfield District Council.

The Executive Mayor has announced his commitment to invest and nurture homegrown talent and provide the opportunity for a passionate, Mansfield-focused leader to step forward to take on the role of CEO.

There are great strengths and experience within the council’s corporate leadership team (CLT) and in ringfencing the position for the council's Strategic Director roles, the Mayor’s aim is to provide stability and efficiency.

A recruitment process has now commenced with an aim of recruiting to the role of CEO by Christmas. It is proposed that a review of the wider CLT structure will take place by February 2025.

Mayor Andy said: “The future for this council is bright, we have a strong corporate plan, an excellent recent LGA Peer Challenge Review and several exciting projects and initiatives to benefit our communities. We have a strong understanding of our financial challenges and have a robust financial strategy in place. Couple this with an outstanding amount of investment coming into our district over the coming years and a raft of regeneration projects underway; it is a time for positivity and optimism for our future.

“We are committed to retaining and growing our talent; the role of CEO is included in this. We look forward to being able to announce a new appointment by 19 December.”
