Mansfield District Council is urging local businesses to celebrate their success by entering this year's Chad Business Excellence Awards.
The council is again one of the main sponsors for the annual competition and is underlining its commitment by supporting the Mansfield Business in the Community award. The deadline to submit nominations is 6pm on 28 September.
Executive Mayor of Mansfield Andy Abrahams said: "We believe that anything that celebrates the achievements of our thriving business community also supports our vision over the next decade to encourage an ambitious, vibrant and confident place.
"The awards also allow local businesses to showcase their work, and we're encouraging both well-established and new companies to enter.
"This is their opportunity to shine and to show their pride in the excellence and success they strive to achieve. It is a great way to enhance their company profile, motivate employees, and showcase their achievements and reputation.
“The event is also an opportunity for Mansfield businesses to shout about the impressive offer from the wider the business community. I would urge all Mansfield businesses to get involved."
The awards are happening at a time when the council has lots of exciting plans coming together for the district:
• A £20million pound investment in the town centre with the Mansfield Connect project, turning the former Beales building into a multi-agency hub.
• £12.33m secured under the Government’s Towns Fund to support six projects in the district, including construction of the Warsop Health Hub, new industrial units in Mansfield Woodhouse and Tech and Skills Exchange, implementing SMART Mansfield solutions, creating a Destination Place Strategy and a new brand for the district and improvement works to Berry Hill Park.
• Mansfield Townscape Heritage Project, which will see nearly £850,000 worth of Heritage Lottery Fund funding available to help restore key town centre buildings.
The council is committed to supporting the local businesses through start-up and growth grants, and advice sessions. Find out more on the council website (link opens in new window) or call 01623 463463.
