Following the closure of polling stations at 10pm today, we can announce the following figures for the 2023 local elections.

Electorate for Mansfield District - 80,855

Mayoral

Turnout - 27.68%

Number of votes cast (inc. polling station and postal votes) - 22,380

District

Turnout - 27.57%

Number of votes cast (inc. polling station and postal votes) - 22,330

The counting of votes will take place on Friday 5 May from 10am. Results will be posted on www.mansfield.gov.uk/elections2023 (opens in new window) as they are announced. It is anticipated the Mayor will be announced by 12pm and the full district by 4pm. 

 

Voter ID

We can now share the following data about voter ID requirements following the 2023 local elections. 

The total number of polling station electors who applied for, but at least initially were not issued with, a ballot paper - 43

The total number of polling station electors who were not issued with a ballot paper and who later returned with accepted ID and were issued with a ballot paper - 16

The total number of polling station electors who applied for but were not issued with a ballot paper by close of poll - 27
