As well as standing together in Remembrance on 11 November, we also observe a two-minute silence at 11am on Remembrance Sunday.

Remembrance Parade Schedule

This year, on Sunday 8 November 2026, the route has been changed slightly and will now start at West Gate/Buttercross, and the parade will travel to the Civic Centre, where the main Service of Remembrance will be held outside the War Memorial.

In the morning there will be a short Service of Remembrance at the Church of St Peter and St Paul from 9.30am to 10am, and everyone is welcome to join.

At 10.15am, the parade will leave from the new location at West Gate and travel along Westfield Lane and Rosemary Street before arriving at the Civic Centre at Mansfield District Council.

There will be a short comfort break, after which the Rev Caroline Phillips will lead a service of remembrance. This will include a two minute silence and the laying of wreaths, followed by a salute.

The event is expected to finish at around 11.30am.

Where to buy a poppy?

People can buy a poppy from the Royal British Legion pop-up shop at 3 Clumber Street as well as from volunteers running collections in Four Seasons Shopping Centre, Tesco Chesterfield Road, Morrisons Sutton Road and Sainsburys on Nottingham Road.

The team are struggling with low volunteer numbers this year so if anyone has a few hours to spare and would like to support them please email events@mansfield.gov.uk and we will pass this on to the Branch Manager at Royal British Manager Mansfield.
