We are required to undertake a full review of all polling districts and polling places every five-years with a public consultation forming part of that review. The review does not affect ward or constituency boundaries, but is about the locations where people cast their votes in elections.
The last review took place in 2023-24 and the next review is due to take place between October 2028 and January 2030.
Regular "interim" reviews are also conducted to change individual polling places due to venue's availability and to reflect other changes within the area.

Notice of Review - PPR
2023 Review of Parliamentary constituencies
- The Boundary Commission for England is an independent and impartial organisation responsible for reviewing Parliamentary constituency boundaries in England. They have made their recommendations for the new boundaries to Parliament in July 2023. You can view these recommendations via the Boundary Commission for England website.
Electoral review
- Electoral reviews make sure each councillor is voted for by roughly the same number of people to ensure a fairer electoral system and also to review the boundaries between district areas.
- Electoral reviews are carried out by the Local Government Boundary Commission for England (LGBCE), and they make recommendations to improve any electoral inequality, while at the same time taking local communities into account.
- We provide details of Mansfield's electorate to the LGBCE regularly so that a decision can be made on whether a review is needed.
- The Local Government Boundary Commission carried out an electoral review of Mansfield District Council between 2020 and 2022. The Commission's final recommendations on revised wards has been approved by Parliament. You can view details of their review via the Local Government Boundary Commission website.
- The aim of the review was to ensure that ward boundaries allow for ward councillor's to represent roughly the same number of voters in each ward and that each ward reflects the interests and identities of the communities in the area.
