Pride in Place Impact Fund - parks and play spaces consultation
Six new accessible play spaces are being created in Mansfield to transform the future of play in the district, and we want you to have your say on what you want to see in them through our dedicated public consultation.
Mansfield District Council, working with Steve Yemm MP, has announced that five play parks and a multi-use-games-area (MUGA), will be created using funding from the Government’s Pride in Place Impact Fund. The focus for these spaces is on accessible spaces that can be enjoyed by people of all ability levels.
Initial projects included in the programme are:
- Pencil Park
- Ladybrook Park (MUGA)
- Peafield Park
- The Carrs
- Oak Tree Estate
- Manor Park

The consultation seeks views on how existing parks and play areas are used, what barriers may prevent children and families from accessing them, and what improvements would deliver the greatest benefits for local communities. The programme will also build on existing consultation evidence where available, such as previous engagement undertaken for Pencil Park by Warsop Parish Council.
We're particularly keen to hear from:
- children and young people
- parents and carers
- schools
- special educational needs and disabilities providers
- disability organisations
- local residents
- community groups.
