Top tips

When using a reputable licensed operator always pre-book by phone, APP or via their website. You will be quoted a fixed price this is the only price you should pay.

When using a Hackney carriage your driver must use the meter within the Mansfield District boundary. You must not pay any more than the fare displayed on the meter in any case.

Hackney Carriages can be hailed down in the street or they can be found at ranks situated around Mansfield Town Centre for your convenience.

It is illegal for a Hackney Carriage to refuse a short fare and the law imposes duties on drivers for passengers in wheelchairs and for passengers with assistance dogs. If you believe a driver has not met their duties, please report it to our Licensing department.

Do not attempt to hail a private hire vehicle, if it is not pre-booked. Remember no booking means no insurance it is not worth the risk.

If you are not satisfied with the service provided, take a photo of the taxi licence number and report it to our Licensing Department.
