We want Mansfield to be a place where artists and creatives can develop and let their talent shine. We know it is particularly hard for young people and early career creatives to get started, and we're here to help.
We regularly have new events or development opportunties, so please come back regularly to check for anything new.
Spotlight

Calling all Young Creatives aged 16 to 25, applications to join the Young Creatives Collective (YCC) are now open.
The YCC is a group of young people aged 16 to 25 with a variety of creative practices who meet regularly at Mansfield Palace Theatre and Mansfield Museum to share skills, knowledge and build a local community of creatives.
All creative mediums (art forms) are welcome. No previous experience, training, or qualification is required. We welcome professional and non-professional creatives to the collective.

Future Movement
Future Movement is a free, innovative programme designed for young people aged 16-21 who want to explore and expand their creativity. it brings together diverse voices to create something meaningful. Whether you’re interested in performing, designing, or exploring behind-the-scenes roles, this is your space to express yourself, develop new skills and get inspired by industry professionals.
Technical Academy

Held weekly on Monday from 6 pm to 8 pm for ages 13-19. Aspiring technicians will learn alongside industry professionals from the Technical Team at Mansfield Palace Theatre. Students will learn about various aspects of technical theatre, including lighting, sound, and stage design.

Young Persons Open Mic
Our Open Mic Nights take place on the first Saturday of every other month. They give Young People aged 13 to 21 the opportunity to perform in a safe, supportive environment. while also getting experience of performing for an audience.
Young Writers Group
Our Young Writers Workshops, delivered in partnership with Writing East Midlands, take place on the first and third Thursday of each month from 6.30 pm to 8 pm. This group is perfect for budding young authors and aspiring poets aged 14-19. With sessions led by published writer and poetry performer, Leanne Moden.
