At Mansfield Museum we are all about connecting with our local communities. We work with groups both out and about in the Mansfield District and in the Museum.

Neurodiverse Futures

Neurodiverse Futures Exhibition

Neurodivergent Futures is a collaborative exhibition exploring creativity, identity and emerging technology through neurodivergent perspectives. Developed with autistic and neurodiverse young people from the Mansfield district, the project brings together artists, researchers and community partners to create a new, immersive artwork shaped by lived experience. Blending art, technology and participation, the exhibition invites audiences to reflect on how neurodivergent voices can help imagine more inclusive futures.

Green Heroes 16

Mansfield's Green Heores

Green Heroes showcases the amazing work of local people and groups protecting, caring for, and celebrating the natural environment in Mansfield and Ashfield. From wildlife rescue and river conservation to community gardening and school eco projects, this exhibition highlights how small actions create big impacts.

Developed by Mansfield Museum as part of its Arts Council England NPO programme, Green Heroes connects communities, shares local stories, and provides a platform for environmental and conservation groups to inspire action, collaboration, and a greener future for our district.

Our Creative Women Together project works with vulnerable women in our local communities to engage them in the arts through our collection, all whilst building self confidence and making friendships.

MANSFIELD AS WE SEE IT

Mansfield District Council Cultural Services have been working on an innovative digital art project that delves into the unique perspectives of young individuals on the Autistic spectrum collaborating with animation artist Sophie Johnson-Hill of SOJO Animation.
