Young Persons Open Mic Events

Supporting Mansfields Young Performers

Our Young Person's Open Mic nights happen bi-monthly on the first Saturday of each month. At each event, we’ve welcomed a variety of talented performers based in and around Mansfield. At previous events we’ve had, poetry, live music, and stand-up comedy, so there’s something for everybody!

These events offer young people a safe and friendly space to gain experience performing in front of an audience. Whether you're a first-time performer, or want a bit more practice, this event is for you!

Join us for our performance workshop

As part of our ‘Young Person’s’ series, we are now offering a performance workshop to help tackle those nerves! Whether you’re a poet, a musician, or even a comedian, this workshop will help you accept your presence on the stage. Expect to meet other young creatives, learn some top-tips, and have fun!

The workshop will be led by our Open Mic host Mia Hagues and supported by GOBS Collective, a Nottingham-based spoken-word collective. Our ‘Young Person’s’ series offers young creatives a safe space to share their work, and this workshop will be no different. Join us for an evening of celebration, where we’ll show you why your voice matters and help you face one of the biggest obstacles of performing: the microphone!

The workshop will be held from 5:30-8pm at Mansfield Museum on Friday 6 March.
