Make Art. Make connections. Make your mark: Join the 0410 Collective

Applications are now open for the next cohort of the 0410 Collective, Mansfield Museum’s flagship visual arts programme for young artists and creatives aged 16 to 25.

Starting in September 2026, the 12-month programme offers aspiring and early-career artists the opportunity to develop their creative practice, gain valuable industry experience and collaborate with like-minded young people from across the district.

Led by the Learning and Aspiration Team at Mansfield District Council’s Cultural Services department, the curated programme is designed to help members grow as artists through creative workshops, collaboration opportunities and support from established artists, producers and arts professionals.

The museum is encouraging applications from anyone aged 16 to 25 with an interest in visual arts, regardless of experience or educational background. The programme particularly welcomes applications from Mansfield-based artists, people from working-class backgrounds, disabled artists, LGBTQ+ artists, neurodivergent artists, artists from minority groups and those outside traditional arts education or practice.

Throughout the programme, members will work together to respond creatively to exhibitions, projects and themes across Mansfield Museum and Palace Theatre. Sessions will take place mainly on Wednesday evenings, with weekly meetings at the start of the programme before moving to fortnightly sessions.

Participants will also have the chance to take part in artist shadowing opportunities and collaborative projects. Later in the programme, members will have the opportunity to make a commissioned piece of artwork in response to a chosen theme, with completed pieces becoming part of Mansfield Museum’s collection and featured in a pop-up exhibition.

The 0410 Collective welcomes artists working across all visual art forms and encourages applications from those who may not yet consider themselves artists.

Applications close on Sunday 16 August 2026, with successful applicants expected to be notified by Friday 21 August 2026.
