Bring Your Mysterious Finds to Mansfield Museum
Have you ever stumbled across an unusual object while metal detecting, gardening, walking the dog, or simply exploring your local area?
Mansfield Museum is inviting the public to bring their intriguing discoveries for expert identification at Finds Identification Day.
Join Meghan, Finds Liaison Officer for Nottinghamshire & Derbyshire, on Saturday 30 August, 11am–3pm, to learn more about the history behind your finds. Each object, no matter how small or ordinary it may seem, helps piece together the story of our local past.
Anja Thompson-Rhode, Collections and Interpretations Officer at Mansfield Museum, said:
"Every object has a story to tell. By bringing your finds to us, you’re helping to uncover hidden pieces of our local heritage and connecting with the people who lived here before us. It’s always exciting to see what history might be hiding right under our feet."
To ensure a slot with Meghan, please book in advance by emailing meghan@derbymuseums.org.
Don’t miss this chance to shine a light on history and discover the secrets of your finds.
