Drop-In Workshop Invites Community to Celebrate Favourite Trees
Visitors of all ages are invited to take part in a free, drop-in creative workshop with artist Mel Langton on Saturday 24 January, from 11am to 2pm.
The session will contribute to artwork for the upcoming exhibition My Favourite Tree, which celebrates the trees that shape our lives, landscapes, and memories.
The exhibition explores why trees matter so much to people — from places of play and reflection to landmarks full of personal and shared history. During the workshop, participants are encouraged to bring ideas, stories, or memories about a tree that is meaningful to them and express these creatively as part of a collaborative artwork.
Artist Mel Langton is known for creating bold, eye-catching and empowering work, often developed with communities in fun and inclusive ways. Her approach makes the workshop welcoming and accessible, with no prior experience needed.
The session is open to all ages, and people can drop in at any time between 11am and 2pm. Everyone is welcome to take part, whether for a few minutes or the full afternoon.
This workshop offers a chance to be part of a shared creative project while celebrating the trees that bring beauty, shelter, and stories into our lives.
