Mansfield Museum Invites Visitors to ‘Dinner at Downton’ This February
Mansfield Museum is set to bring the elegance and atmosphere of early 20th-century Britain to life with a special immersive film event.
On Thursday 26 February 2026 at 7pm, visitors are invited to step into the world of Downton Abbey for Dining & Downton where will be screning Downton Abbey The Finale Tickets are £7.50 and available now.
For one night only, the museum’s galleries will be transformed into a grand Edwardian dining room, complete with candlelit tables laid beautifully with pieces from the museum’s extensive historic dining collection. Guests will take their seats among sparkling glassware, polished silver and fine china, echoing the opulent banquet scenes that have become a hallmark of the beloved period drama.
Although no dinner will be served, the event is designed to evoke the rich traditions of formal dining at the turn of the century. Visitors will have the rare opportunity to experience these objects as they were originally intended to be seen — as part of a complete and carefully arranged table setting.
“Downton Abbey is the perfect backdrop for showcasing our dining sets in a living, immersive way,” said organisers at Mansfield Museum. “We wanted to create an evening that feels both glamorous and welcoming, allowing visitors to enjoy cinema surrounded by the beauty of the collection.”
