October Fun for Families at Mansfield Museum!

This October, Mansfield Museum is bursting with creative, hands-on activities for families and children! From arts and crafts to dance and cultural celebrations, there’s something for everyone.

Half-Term Fun: 21–31 October
Families can drop in to enjoy a variety of free craft activities, designed to inspire creativity and provide hours of fun:

  • 21 October – Puppy Masks: Make your very own puppy mask to take home. Perfect for kids who love to get crafty!

  • 22 October – Build a Puppy: Create your own puppy model – a hands-on activity for all ages.

  • 23 October – Paw Patrol Jigsaw: Build your very own Paw Patrol jigsaw and enjoy some puzzle fun.

  • 24 October – Slinky Dogs: Design and take home your very own slinky dog.

Celebrating Black History Month: 28–30 October
Join us for special activities celebrating culture, creativity, and togetherness:

  • 28 October – Unity Bracelets & Global Dance with Charm: Make a bracelet promoting unity and take part in a lively dance session with Charm.

  • 29 October – African Necklace: Create your own African-inspired necklace and learn about traditional designs.

  • 30 October – Kente Weaving: Explore traditional Kente patterns and weave your own keepsake.

Halloween Fun – 31 October

  • 10:00am – 1:00pm – Spooky Halloween Crafts: Come in your scariest costumes, play Trick or Treat with our team, and create festive Halloween decorations to take home.

  • 🎧 5:30pm – 7:00pm – Spooky Silent Disco: Dance the evening away with a Halloween-themed silent disco!

    • Tickets: £5 per person (includes headset hire)

    • Fancy dress encouraged

    • Accompanying adults not using a headset do not require a ticket

All daytime activities are free, suitable for all ages, and drop-in, with materials provided. The silent disco is ticketed, giving older kids and families a chance to dance and celebrate Halloween together.
