Exciting Learning Opportunities for Schools at Mansfield Museum & Palace Theatre – 2025/26

newletter for schools

Mansfield Museum and Mansfield Palace Theatre are thrilled to share a range of exciting learning opportunities for primary schools throughout the 2025/26 academic year.

From hands-on workshops and creative projects to professional development and live performances, there’s something for every class and curriculum.

Bring Learning to Life with Curriculum-Linked Workshops
Schools can now plan ahead and book from our programme of engaging, interactive workshops at Mansfield Museum and the Palace Theatre. Popular topics include Romans and Greeks, local history, drama, and self-led gallery sessions. All sessions are curriculum-linked, flexible, and can be tailored to suit your class’s needs. Plus, we’re happy to design a session around your current topic or a book your class is exploring—just ask!

Create Together: 'Our Favourite Tree' Collaborative Art Project
This September, we’re inviting pupils aged 6–11 to take part in a special collaborative art project at Mansfield Museum, linked to our upcoming Our Favourite Tree exhibition. Between 22–26 September 2025, schools can book a free workshop where pupils will create their own mini artworks inspired by trees. The pieces will be combined into a vibrant display, celebrating creativity across Mansfield. One class per session, with places allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

Stage Design CPD with the Royal Ballet & Opera
Teachers are invited to a unique CPD day on Friday 17 October 2025, delivered in partnership with the Royal Ballet & Opera’s award-winning Create & Design programme. Held at Mansfield Museum, this free full-day, certified training is ideal for primary teachers who want to gain confidence in teaching stage design. Explore hands-on, creative techniques that support model-making, prototyping, and classroom-based design projects—and leave with ready-to-use resources and new ideas.
