Feeling Curious? Join the Toot at our Children’s Festival!
Two unmissable family shows are coming to Mansfield Museum this October half-term as part of our Children’s Festival and we’ve got an offer you can’t refuse to see them both!
Join us on a musical adventure on Tuesday 22 October as MishMash present Toot! Experience the charm of a wind quintet in this fun family concert, which will bring to life a performance filled with warmth, excitement, and magic.
The show is designed for seven to 11 year olds and their families and promises to have you mesmerised by Paquito D’rivera’s Aires Tropicales, and calmed by Handel’s Sonato for oboe, whilst Valerie Coleman’s Red Clay and Mississippi Delta will transport you into the blues of the deep south. You’ll also feel the vibrant energy of Ligeti’s Bagatelles and Judith Weir’s Mountain Airs will carry you to the majestic Scottish Highlands.
This one hour show (performances at 11.30am and 1.30pm) is the perfect introduction to live classical music with tickets just £6 per child and adults go free; why not give it a go?
Little explorers are invited to become Curious Investigators on Wednesday 23 October. Scribble and Clipboard have a job to do: sort the recycling. But Scribble keeps finding new things to investigate. When she discovers a mysterious egg hidden in the rubbish, the pair need the audience’s help to rescue an unborn chick. Can we save a mysterious egg from a smashing? And what will we discover along the way?
Curious Investigators is a cracking adventure created in collaboration with engineering experts from Lancaster University: a delightfully surprising, highly visual show for three to seven year olds and their grown-ups. This brand-new family show has been hatched by One Tenth Human, commissioned by Big Imaginations and supported by Arts Council England
After the show why not join our optional 20 minute stay and play crafting and engineering workshop to make your own scanners?
Performances are at 10.30am and 2pm with tickets £5 per person and under 2s free.
