Exciting building work in Mansfield Museum

We have exciting building work starting in Mansfield Museum. Building both a brand new permanent exhibition and a fully accessible toilet.

Over the next few months Mansfield Museum is undergoing a number of exciting changes. Building work has started this week to install a brand new permanent exhibition and also a fully accessible toilet.

The toilet facilities will provide a dignified and hygienic option for people who need and deserve it. They feature a height adjustable adult changing bench, a ceiling track hoist, a peninsular toilet with space for two assistants, a privacy screen along with practical items such as wide paper rolls, a large waste disposal bin, a backrest on the toilet seat and a height-adjustable wash basin.

Mansfield District Council is currently in the process of creating two Changing Places – in Mansfield Museum and at the Four Seasons Shopping Centre – after being awarded £183,200 by the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities.

The building work in the museum may create some noise and limited access to some rooms but we still have lots to see and do. Please come and visit us and for information on what's on head to our exhibitions page on the website.
