From what time can I take my seat?

The auditorium is opened at the discretion of the Front of House Manager, but generally 30 minutes prior to the show.

What is a matinee performance?

A matinee is an afternoon performance. Matinee performances generally start between 2pm and 5pm.

What happens if I am late?

Latecomers will only be admitted at a suitable point in the performance but it may not be possible to seat you in your allocated seat until the interval.

Is there a break in the middle of the performance?

Most shows have a 20 minute interval during the performance, however not all.


Is there a cash machine at the theatre?

Staff can point you in the direction of several cash points within a minute’s walk from the venue.

Can I use a credit or debit card to pay for merchandise, drinks and ice-creams?

We accept card payments on all Front of House till points. Please note there is a minimum spend of £5 to use this facility.


Can I pre-order drinks for the interval?

We recommend that you order your interval drinks on arrival at the theatre, using our Ordertorium forms.

Can I take my drink into the auditorium?

You are permitted to take drinks into the auditorium, provided they have been purchased from Groucho’s bar or our kiosk, and they are in plastic bottles or cups. You are not permitted to leave during the show to purchase drinks and take them back into the auditorium; please wait until the interval to refill your glasses!


Can I take pictures or a video of the performance?

Taking pictures or videos is strictly forbidden and if caught you may be asked to leave.

Can I dance during the show?

For health and safety purposes the aisles must be kept clear at all times. We ask people who wish to dance to be considerate and not block the view of those who wish to remain seated.

Can I get a message read out during the show?

This is at the discretion of each show and is very often not possible. Please give any requests in writing to our Front of House team on the day of your visit.

Can I meet the cast?

Any meet the cast opportunities/competitions will be promoted in advance through our website and social media channels, or announced during the show.


If I lose something at the theatre, who should I contact?

Lost property is logged and stored at reception. Please call 01623 463133.


I’ve seen a discount/offer after I’ve booked my tickets?

Discounts and offers are subject to availability. These tickets may be restricted to certain parts of the theatre. In the same way as retailers, we are unable to refund the difference between the original price and the sale price. Mansfield Palace Theatre reserves the right to withdraw any offers at any time.
