Charm offensive! Joseph Dockree returns as Prince Charming

Following his hugely popular appearance as Prince Frederick in last year’s Snow White & the Seven Dwarfs, Joseph is returning to Mansfield by popular demand, joining the sparkling cast of this year’s spectacular pantomime, Cinderella, which runs from Saturday 21 November 2026 to Sunday 3 January 2027.

Having won everyone over both on and off stage last Christmas, Joseph’s return is sure to be welcomed by Mansfield theatregoers, who can now look forward to seeing him swap Snow White’s enchanted kingdom for the fairytale world of Cinderella – and, of course, a pair of glass slippers!

Performing in Snow White last year was such a fun experience that I was very honoured to be asked to return to play Prince Charming in Cinderella. Who could resist the opportunity to work with the comic genius that is Adam Moss again? I can’t wait to be back in Mansfield for what is bound to be an awesome Christmas period.”

Joseph joins an already dazzling cast for Mansfield’s 2026 pantomime, alongside Emmerdale favourite Rosie Bentham, who will take on the title role of Cinderella, Mansfield’s favourite funny man Adam Moss, and the outrageous Wicked Sisters, played by Jamie Morris and Tarot Joseph. The production features a script by award-winning writer Jon Monie and promises enchanting storytelling, side-splitting comedy, lavish settings and even adorable miniature ponies.

Joseph trained at The Royal Ballet School and Laine Theatre Arts, and has an impressive career spanning musical theatre, ballet, television and choreography.

His theatre credits include Mrs Doubtfire at the Shaftesbury Theatre, Mary Poppins at the Prince Edward Theatre, Cabaret, Shrek and Funny Girl on UK tours, as well as productions of Mary Poppins in Vienna, Beauty and the Beast in Paris and Dance of the Vampires in Berlin. He also played Prince Charming in One Man’s Dream II: The Magic Lives On at Tokyo Disneyland.

His ballet credits include Sleeping Beauty with The Royal Ballet at the Royal Opera House, and The Nutcracker and Coppelia with Birmingham Royal Ballet at Birmingham Hippodrome.

Joseph’s television credits include This Is Your Life France: Celine Dion, Born To Shine for ITV and the 2010 M&S Christmas commercial.

Away from performing, Joseph has also worked as a choreographer for Sting and the Elton John AIDS Foundation, as well as for companies including Marmite.

This year’s Cinderella promises to be another spectacular festive treat for audiences of all ages. Cinderella is desperate to escape the cruel treatment of her Wicked Stepsisters and needs all the help her Fairy Godmother can give her if she is to meet her Prince Charming and find true love before midnight.

With laughter, romance, spectacular scenery, fabulous music and plenty of pantomime fun, it’s the perfect Christmas outing for families, friends and fairytale fans.

Cinderella runs at Mansfield Palace Theatre from Saturday 21 November 2026 to Sunday 3 January 2027.
