Raise a glass and soak up the sound: Sip & Sounds acoustic nights return
Following the success of its pilot programme of intimate folk music evenings, Mansfield Palace Theatre is delighted to announce the return of its popular Sip & Sounds acoustic music series.
Hosted in the cosy surroundings of Groucho's Bar, Sip & Sounds offers audiences the chance to experience exceptional live music in a relaxed and atmospheric setting. The series showcases talented folk and experimental musicians through stripped-back performances that celebrate the power of live acoustic music.
The first event in the new season welcomes acclaimed folk duo Jan and Paul Ramsey on Saturday 5 September 2026.
Performing together since the 1980s, Jan and Paul Ramsey have built a strong reputation on the folk circuit both in the UK and internationally. Their repertoire spans traditional and contemporary folk music, award-winning original songs and Americana influences, creating a rich and engaging musical experience.
Jan provides lead vocals while accompanying herself on guitar and violin, with Paul adding close harmonies alongside single-note harmonica and melodeon. Together, they create beautifully crafted performances that have delighted folk audiences for decades.
Tickets are priced at just £5 per person, thanks to the support of Arts Council England funding, which is helping Mansfield Palace Theatre bring diverse, innovative and high-quality live music experiences to local audiences at affordable prices.
With doors opening at 7pm and music from 7.30pm to 9.30pm, Sip & Sounds offers the perfect opportunity to unwind at the weekend. Whether you're a dedicated folk fan, looking to discover new artists, or simply seeking a different night out with friends, audiences can expect an evening of outstanding music in an intimate and welcoming environment.
