Magical family adventure The Sand Dragon comes to Mansfield Museum and Art Gallery this August
Families are invited to discover a world of magic, adventure and imagination as Theatrix Arts brings its enchanting production, The Sand Dragon, to Mansfield Museum and Art Gallery on Friday 7 August.
Perfect for young children and their grown-ups, The Sand Dragon tells the heartwarming story of Edie and her Daddy, whose ordinary seaside holiday becomes anything but ordinary when they discover a mysterious pebble with the power to grant one wish.
But what will Edie wish for?
Packed with captivating storytelling, original songs, beautiful handcrafted puppets, magical transformations and plenty of surprises, The Sand Dragon is an interactive theatre experience designed to delight audiences of all ages. The production offers a wonderful introduction to live theatre for younger audiences while providing plenty of fun, laughter and wonder for the whole family.
The adventure continues after the show, as children are invited to meet the puppets and take part in a special hands-on workshop where they can create their very own Sand Dragon puppet to take home.
Running for approximately 40 minutes, followed by the puppet-making workshop, this magical event promises an unforgettable family experience during the summer holidays.
Theatrix Arts has built a reputation for creating engaging, high-quality family performances, with audiences and venues praising the company's ability to captivate both children and adults alike.
One previous venue commented:
"The audience (both adults and children) were thoroughly mesmerised by Paul and his puppets. A fun, energetic show for all the family to enjoy."
The Artistic Director of Deal Festival of Music and the Arts said:
"Huge thanks for making us all smile and laugh so much. You transported us into a world of magic that was just so enjoyable. I could see the kids engaged, and you do it all with such ease!"
The Sand Dragon will be performed at Mansfield Museum and Art Gallery on Leeming Street (NG18 1NG) on Friday 7 August at 11am and 2pm. The show is approximately 40 minutes long, followed by a puppet-making workshop – all for just £6 per person.
