Warm up act announced for Harry Styles tribute night

Mansfield Palace Theatre is delighted to announce the winner of its recent competition to find a local support act for The Harry Styles Show this June.

Following a fantastic response from talented young performers across the region,17 year old Grace Florence from Leicestershire has been selected to open the show on Friday 5 June, bringing her unique sound to the stage ahead of an already highly anticipated evening.

Grace impressed judges with her standout vocal and guitar ability, stage presence and distinctive style, rising above a strong field of applicants aged 16 to 25. She will now take to the spotlight at Mansfield Palace Theatre, performing a short set in front of a live audience before the main event begins.

Speaking about the opportunity, Grace said:

“I am so excited to perform at Mansfield Palace Theatre. My family are from Mansfield and we attend panto every year, so when my cousin received an email about the competition she forwarded it to me straight away. I’m a singer songwriter just starting out on the music scene and also part of a duo called Altered Ego, so I perform a wide range of covers from most genres and also write my own music which I’m yet to release. Thank you so much for this opportunity”.

The competition was the brainchild of Sean McNicholas, who stars as Harry Styles in the show. He said:

“As an artist, all you need is that one opportunity or lucky break - someone to spot your potential and give you a platform to share your talent. I’m really excited to welcome Grace to the stage and can’t wait for the audience to see what she adds to the night.”

Christopher Neil, Cultural Services Manager at Mansfield District Council, added:

“We were thrilled by the quality and variety of applications we received. Grace is a very deserving winner, and this is exactly what the initiative was designed to do - give emerging young artists a platform to perform in a professional theatre environment.”

As part of her prize, Grace will also receive three hours of recording time at Electric Bear Studios in Mansfield, providing a valuable opportunity to further develop her music.

Audiences attending The Harry Styles Show are encouraged to arrive early to support Grace and experience the next generation of local talent.
