Jazz star Clare Teal brings swing, stories and celebration
Award-winning jazz vocalist Clare Teal is set to light up Mansfield on Thursday 30 April, as she returns with her brand-new live show alongside her world-class ensemble, The Clare Teal 5.
Audiences can expect an evening of exhilarating swing, sublime musicianship and unforgettable storytelling as Clare celebrates an incredible 25 years of touring. Renowned for her warm, witty stage presence and rich, expressive voice, Clare has long been one of the UK’s most treasured interpreters of popular song.
This milestone tour sees Clare revisiting highlights from her remarkable 22-album catalogue, reimagined with fresh arrangements and a renewed sense of joy. Fans can look forward to favourites from her breakthrough album Orsino’s Songs (2002), including the much-loved “California Dreamin’”, alongside tracks from her chart-success album Don’t Talk (2004), which reached the UK Top 20.
Clare’s live performances are famed for their ever-evolving setlists and intimate, conversational style, taking audiences on a musical journey that spans jazz, swing and contemporary classics. From the timeless songwriting of Cole Porter and Duke Ellington, to iconic voices like Ella Fitzgerald, Peggy Lee and Sarah Vaughan, Clare breathes new life into beloved songs, while also putting her own distinctive spin on modern artists such as Van Morrison and Sam Smith.
All of it is delivered through Clare’s signature “swing jazz” palette which stylish, uplifting and irresistibly engaging.

She spent over a decade hosting her own show on BBC Radio 2, becoming a trusted guide to jazz and swing for millions of listeners. She has also presented on Jazz FM and BBC Radio 3, and continues to share her passion for music through her popular weekly programme on Boom Radio - a station aimed at music lovers who grew up with the golden age of popular song.
