New season announced – music, comedy, family favourites and more

A brand-new season of entertainment has been unveiled at Mansfield Palace Theatre, promising an exciting mix of music, theatre, comedy, family shows and fascinating live events from April to July.

Audiences can look forward to everything from spectacular tribute concerts and nostalgic musical journeys to family adventures, Shakespearean drama and stand-up comedy, ensuring there is something for everyone in the months ahead.

Spectacular music and tribute nights

Music lovers are in for a treat with a packed programme celebrating some of the world’s biggest artists and genres.

Fans of stadium anthems can experience the magic of Coldplay in Sky Full of Stars - A Tribute to Coldplay on Thursday 16 April, while the soulful sounds of The Magic of Motown arrive on Thursday 23 April.

Fans of singer-songwriters will also enjoy The Carole King and James Taylor Songbook, honouring the music of two music legends on Friday 17 April.

Country fans can enjoy Beautiful Crazy celebrating the music of Luke Combs on Friday 1 May, while Taylor Fever, a tribute to global pop phenomenon Taylor Swift, arrives on Friday 29 May.

The season also features powerful celebrations of iconic performers, including What’s Love Got to Do With It – honouring the legendary Tina Turner on Wednesday 29 April, and Queen of the Night - A Tribute to Whitney Houston, showcasing the unforgettable voice of Whitney Houston on Thursday 25 June.

Other musical highlights include Women in Rock on Thursday 14 May, The Upbeat Beatles on Friday 15 May, Beautiful Trauma - The Ultimate Live Pink Experience on Wednesday 10 June, One Voice: Barry Manilow on Thursday 11 June, The Rod Stewart Songbook on Friday 26 June, the dazzling disco celebration Lost in Music on Friday 10 July, and the vibrant pop spectacular K Pop Forever! on Friday 12 June.

Meanwhile, The Cavern Club Story on Thursday 9 July takes audiences back to the Merseybeat era and the legendary Liverpool venue The Cavern Club that helped launch the careers of artists like The Beatles.

Live music icons and special performances

The new season also brings celebrated artists and unique live music experiences to Mansfield.

Legendary performer Toyah Willcox appears in An Evening with Toyah: Songs and Stories on Wednesday 6 May, sharing music and memories from her extraordinary career.

Jazz lovers can look forward to an evening with acclaimed vocalist Clare Teal and her band The Clare Teal Five on Thursday 30 April, while nostalgic favourite That’ll Be The Day returns with its ever-popular celebration of rock ’n’ roll history on Wednesday 13 May.

Family shows and children’s theatre

Families are well catered for this season with a fantastic line-up of shows for younger audiences.

Prehistoric excitement awaits in Dinosaur Adventure Live: Danger on T-Rex Mountain on Tuesday 7 April, packed with larger-than-life dinosaurs and interactive thrills.

The beloved children’s story The Tiger Who Came to Tea comes to life on Tuesday 26 May and Wednesday 27 May, while The Sooty Show brings timeless fun and magical mischief with Sooty, Sweep and Soo on Thursday 28 May.

Younger audiences will also enjoy A Tribute to Ms Rachel, inspired by the hugely popular children’s educator Ms Rachel on Thursday 4 June.

Theatre and Shakespeare

Classic storytelling and theatrical adventures also feature strongly in the new season.

Audiences can enjoy a gripping stage adaptation of the strange case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde with Jekyll & Hyde on Tuesday 2 June, while Shakespeare’s magical comedy A Midsummer Night’s Dream is brought vividly to life for family audiences on Wednesday 3 June.

Shakespeare also heads outdoors as Oddsocks present their hilarious take on Romeo and Juliet in Shakespeare in the Park on Sunday 14 June, performed in the beautiful surroundings of Titchfield Park.

Comedy, stories and fascinating talks

The season also offers plenty for those who enjoy storytelling, comedy and intriguing real-life tales.

The Comedy Store brings a line-up of top stand-up talent on Friday 19 June for a night of big laughs.

For true crime enthusiasts, Strange, but True Crime explores chilling real-life mysteries on Saturday 25 April, while Robbie Cumming – Canal Boat Stories sees the much-loved waterways presenter share humorous and heartfelt tales from life on Britain’s canals on Wednesday 8 July.

Nostalgia and musical memories

For those who love a trip down memory lane, Neil Sands presents the 20th Anniversary tour of Remember, offering a heartwarming afternoon of songs and memories celebrating the golden decades of popular music on Wednesday 17 June.
