Expect exhilarating swing and unforgettable storytelling as award-winning jazz vocalist and long-time BBC Radio 2, Jazz FM and Radio 3 broadcaster Clare Teal returns to Mansfield Palace Theatre.
Marking 25 years of touring, The Clare Teal 5 is a thrilling collaboration between one of the UK’s most celebrated interpreters of popular song and her magnificent band of world-class musicians. Together they promise an evening of rich sounds, sparkling musicianship and Clare’s trademark warmth and wit.
Celebrating this milestone anniversary, Clare delves into her remarkable 22-album back catalogue with fresh arrangements of old favourites. Audiences can look forward to music from her breakthrough album Orsino’s Songs (2002), including the much-loved California Dreamin’, alongside material from her major label debut Don’t Talk (2004), which reached the UK Top 20.
Clare’s live shows are renowned for their ever-evolving setlists and engaging storytelling, creating a magical musical journey through jazz, swing and contemporary classics. From the timeless songwriting of Cole Porter and Duke Ellington to the distinctive voices of Ella Fitzgerald, Peggy Lee and Sarah Vaughan - alongside modern greats such as Van Morrison and Sam Smith - Clare and her band breathe new life into beloved songs, as well as showcasing her own original material.
