Mansfield Palace Theatre is set to delight families this February half term with a packed programme of magical shows, music, storytelling and hands-on workshops, offering something for children of all ages.
From toe-tapping pop anthems to beloved storybook characters and creative comedy sessions, the theatre will be bursting with family-friendly entertainment throughout the school holiday.
Flowers and Friendship Bracelets – Tuesday 17 February
Half term fun begins with Flowers and Friendship Bracelets, a dazzling stage show packed with music and dance. Celebrating friendship, fun and self-expression, this high-energy production features hit songs inspired by the music of Taylor Swift, Sabrina Carpenter, Miley Cyrus and Chappell Roan, making it the perfect feel-good treat for young pop fans.
The Storm Whale – Wednesday 18 February
Based on the much-loved books by Benji Davies, The Storm Whale is a heartwarming musical story concert for children. This gentle and beautifully told tale of friendship and family is ideal for younger audiences and offers a calm, imaginative theatre experience.
Rapunzel – Sunday 22 February
Families are invited to enjoy an enchanting retelling of the classic fairy tale with Rapunzel by TaleGate Theatre Productions. Full of adventure, humour and heart, this charming production brings the timeless story to life for a new generation.
The Gruffalo’s Child – Wednesday 25 and Thursday 26 February
Tall Stories returns to Mansfield Palace Theatre with a stage adaptation of Julia Donaldson’s beloved sequel, The Gruffalo’s Child. Perfect for families, this magical production features imaginative storytelling, puppetry and songs. A relaxed performance will take place at 11am on Thursday 26 February, designed to create a welcoming environment for all audiences.
A special highlight of the February half-term programme sees pantomime favourite Adam Moss return to Mansfield Palace Theatre with two exclusive workshops designed to inspire young performers and comedy fans alike.
Adam will lead Family Fun for Under 8s on Thursday 19 February, followed by Behind the Laughs: A Kids Comedy Workshop on Friday 20 February, offering children a rare opportunity to learn directly from a professional performer in a fun, supportive and energetic environment. Speaking about his return, Adam said:
