Mansfield multi-media artist creating Wonderland for Meet the Hatter
Joss Arnott Dance is a professional contemporary dance company who exist to support more people to see and experience dance, especially young people from disadvantaged backgrounds.
They understand the power of the arts to influence social mobility, and draw on their working-class roots to give everybody the best arts experience, no matter their background.
Their commitment to a ‘not I, but we’ approach means that they work with others to design ambitious, exciting, extraordinary, inspirational shows using Artistic Director, Joss Arnott’s stunning and dynamic choreography.
They take their work to places where people gather, performing in theatres, community venues, at festivals and on the streets. They are always generous in their leadership, whilst developing talent and encouraging creative excellence in everyone they work with.
Local multi-media artist, Rebecca Smith, of Urban Projections, tells us of her excitement to be involved in creating the illusion of Wonderland in the upcoming performances of Meet the Hatter at Mansfield Palace Theatre on 1 and 2 October:
“It’s been a real joy to design the projections for Meet the Hatter. Working with Joss Arnott Dance to bring this magical world to life has been an inspiring process. The combination of dance and digital design allowed us to create an immersive Wonderland that feels playful, imaginative and full of depth – I can’t wait for audiences to experience it.”
Joss Arnott Dance’s people-powered approach, combined with their artistic ambition means that they are trusted to deliver standout dance experiences that bring new audiences and participants to dance.
Since 2010 they have toured to 150 places, achieved multiple sell out performances and average 70% at box office, welcoming more than 500,000 people to experience their work live and online. They engage with an average of 2,500 participants every year.
Their latest production, Meet the Hatter at Mansfield Palace Theatre follows the successful production of The Tin Man there last year and you can see it on 1 and 2 October for just £10. Call Box Office on 01623 463133 or book online using the what's on pages.
