Mansfield is set to mark the 80th anniversary of VE Day with a heartfelt and joyous series of events that celebrate the spirit, resilience, and unity of wartime Britain.

Mansfield Palace Theatre is proud to present a nostalgic line-up of shows that will have audiences singing, laughing, and reminiscing:

D Day Darlings – Tuesday 6 May at 2.30pm
As seen on Britain’s Got Talent, this acclaimed vocal group brings the wartime era to life with their harmonies, stories, and songs that captured a generation. This moving tribute to the wartime spirit promises a heartfelt afternoon of music and memories.

The Dad’s Army Radio Show – Wednesday 4 June at 7.30pm
Two actors. Twenty-five characters. One classic British comedy. Don’t miss this side-splitting recreation of the beloved BBC series, all delivered with pitch-perfect timing and affectionate hilarity.

Neil Sands’ Land of Hope and Glory – Wednesday 18 June at 2pm
A spectacular afternoon of patriotic songs, dazzling costumes, and touching tributes to the heroes of the past. This feel-good show is packed with favourite melodies and flag-waving moments to stir the soul.

And the celebrations don’t stop there!

Celebration in the Park – Saturday 3 May, 10am to 2pm at Yeoman Hill Park
Mansfield District Council invites the whole community to come together for a free, fun-filled day in the park. Expect live music from local artists, face painting, fantastic entertainment, delicious food vans and much more. Bring the family, bring a picnic, and bring your best singing voice – it’s a day not to be missed!
