You’d be wrong to think that panto season is over – oh yes you would! January sees not one but two local groups presenting their annual performances. Please support local talent as Westfield Folkhouse present Cinderella from 11 to 19 January and Mansfield Hospitals Theatre Troupe perform Jack and the Magical Beanstalk between 25 January and 1 February.

We’ve got music tributes aplenty with Ultimate Classic Rock Show on Friday 7 February, The Elton John Show on Saturday 8 February, Spice Girls Experience on Saturday 15 February, Twist and Shout on Friday 21 February, A Vision of Elvis on Thursday 27 February, That’ll be the Day on Tuesday 18 March, Lost in Music on Thursday 20 March, Calling Planet Earth on Friday 21 March, Go Your Own Way on Wednesday 26 March and Big Girls Don’t Cry on Thursday 27 March.

Our classical programme continues with our friends at Music in the Round presenting two shows on Monday 17 February. The Giddy Goat (11am) is inspired by the beloved children’s book, bringing the story to life through enchanting original music, performed by strings, wind, and piano. Then in the evening (7.30pm), join us to be seated on stage in an intimate setting for Mozart Masterpieces, featuring talented string players alongside horn and clarinet, who come together to perform three of Mozart’s most cherished masterpieces: the beautifully melodic Clarinet Quintet, the soulful Horn Quintet, and the poignant yet uplifting String Quintet in G.

We’ve got some great comedy shows coming up this season, starting with Comedy Club 4 Kids during half term on Tuesday 18 February, and shortly followed by our regular Comedy Store on Saturday 22 February. Award winning comedian Phil Walker brings his Happy Bunny stand up tour to the Palace stage on Saturday 1 March.

If you’ve not been swept up by Wicked mania lately, where have you been?! We’re so excited to present Wickedly Ariana on Wednesday 19 February where Hannah Thomas with her band and dancers will take you on a magical journey of all Ariana Grande’s greatest hits, plus songs from the blockbuster movie and musical fantasy Wicked.

The Queenz are back by popular demand on Thursday 20 February with Drag me to the Disco! Join the gals for an electrifying, live vocal, drag-stravaganza, where dancing Queenz and disco dreams collide for the party of a lifetime.

Join us for this groundbreaking LGBTQ+ dance-opera set in Cuba featuring stunning costumes, Latin and Caribbean music. Better still, you can grab tickets for a tenner using the code ‘somethingnew’ online or at Box Office!

The Olivier award winning improvised musical, Showstopper!, comes to town on Wednesday 12 March. A brand-new musical comedy is created from scratch at each performance of this award-winning show as audience suggestions are transformed on the spot into all-singing, all-dancing productions with hilarious results.

As always, we encourage you to support local talent as our own Senior Youth Theatre present Port Manteau on Wednesday 12 and Thursday 13 February. Additionally, Mansfield Operatic Society return to present the timeless classic, The Wizard of Oz, from Wednesday 5 to Sunday 9 March.

We also continue to present our Exhibition on Screen series in conjunction with our friends at Mansfield Museum. Join us in the Leeming Lounge on Friday 28 February for our showing of the life and works of Frida Kahlo and Friday 21 March for Canaletto and the Art of Venice.
