Melodic Moments July 2026

Melodic Moments is a relaxed series of afternoon concerts presented by Sinfonia Viva, designed to be welcoming, inclusive and accessible to everyone. These daytime performances are especially suited to people who may find evening concerts difficult to attend. Audiences are encouraged to come as they are, whether attending alone or with family members, children, parents, or friends. The series is particularly supportive of people living with dementia and those who care for them, offering a calm, friendly environment where shared musical experiences can flourish. Each concert features beautifully performed live music in an intimate, informal setting, giving space to pause, connect, and enjoy the joy of music together. Presented by Caroline Welsh, every event introduces a different ensemble and theme, ensuring there is always something fresh to discover. More than a concert, Melodic Moments is a warm gathering that celebrates togetherness, gentle connection, and meaningful moments. After the performance, everyone is invited to stay for tea and cake - a much‑loved tradition that encourages conversation and reflection - or to explore the Mansfield Museum with new and familiar faces. Tea and scones will be provided free of charge.

The Sand Dragon

Join Theatrix Arts for this enchanting storytelling adventure filled with songs and music, wonderful puppets, changing scenery, and even a magic trick or two! After the show, children can meet the puppets and take part in a fun workshop to create their very own Sand Dragon Puppet to take home. Inspired by the magic of musicals, this week is perfect for children who love to sing, dance, act, or simply would like to try something new. Throughout the week, young performers will explore the world of a true triple threat. Led by friendly industry professionals, sessions include West End inspired choreography, vocal training and acting sessions with a qualified LAMDA drama teacher. The week will be filled with engaging activities designed to build skills and confidence. No experience is needed, just enthusiasm and a willingness to get involved. Whether your child already loves musicals or is discovering them for the first time, they’ll be supported every step of the way while making new friends and learning new skills. By the end of the week, they’ll have grown in confidence, creativity, and self-expression. All while enjoying the excitement and storytelling of musical theatre.
