From gripping dramas to captivating documentaries, these films have captured hearts and earned accolades. As our second festival approaches, immerse yourself in the magic of cinema and get a taste of what's to come. Don't miss this opportunity to experience the best of the best and get hyped for our upcoming festival!

The evening will consist of a 1.5 hour screening of amazing films, talks with filmmakers and a post screening Q&A session.

This event is suitable for an 18+ audience rating. All films are flagged for content warnings before each film starts.

Door open at 17:30 to give you time to grab a drink, films start at 6pm.

Stone Giant - Directed By: Chris Miggells 7:00

In a fitting tribute to his local roots and family history, Mansfield pianist and composer Chris Miggells records his ground-breaking piano composition ’Stone Giant’ in the iconic monument, Clipstone Headstocks. The sound was recorded live on set inside the derelict coal mines’ 50-foot-high power house, which adds its distinctive, haunting, cathedral-like reverberations to the track.

Clinging onto his red ball, Bamike leaves the big city of London for a small town where his family can get a fresh start after a family tragedy.

Demon Box - Directed By: Sean Wainsteim - 14:00

After festival rejections, a director revises his intensely personal short film about trauma, suicide, and the Holocaust, and transforms it into a painful, blunt and funny dissection of the film and his life. Ten years in the making.

REDt’BLUE -  Directed By: Jay Martin - 23:00

REDt'BLUE is a documentary short, focusing on how, and why, the ex-mining town constituency of Mansfield swung from the Labour party, which had held it for a consecutive 94-years, to the Conservative party in the 2017 snap-election.
